The Institute was established in the year 2007 under the aegis of Tagore Education and Research Society. This institute is a sisterly organisation of Tagore College of Education. It is recognized by the J&K Government,  and is affiliated to Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education.

The Institute offers a professional course in Elementary Teachers Training.

Candidates having 10+2 or higher qualification can apply for this course and the admission process is conducted by the State Board of School Education, J&K.
